The Clayton Home Buying Difference

As a Lifestylist®, I work on designing site built homes as well as manufactured homes, and in special circumstances I’ll even help a customer with their personal home.

This month a well-known chef asked if I could help her with her new home, and it’s given me the opportunity to revisit what’s involved in the buying process. As a result, it’s made me fall in love more with the manufactured home process and the value of mobile and modular homes!

There are so many things that are offered in a Clayton home that I tend to take for granted, like all of the designer details:

  • Mosaic tiles
  • Wood ceiling beams
  • Freestanding tubs
  • Ceramic showers
  • Drawers in bathroom and kitchen cabinets
  • Gooseneck kitchen sink faucets

In a site built home, many times you are buying a very basic home, and then you get to purchase upgrades to make your home unique. I was shocked when we visited the sales center for the site built home and found out you had to pay extra for the following that are included in many of our Clayton homes!

  • Accent tile bands in showers

  • Brand name kitchen appliances such as ovens, dishwashers, refrigerators and microwaves.

And that’s only a small part of the list!

After working on this home, I visited Clayton Homes of DeSoto in DeSoto, Texas, and I felt like I was home again. They were such beautiful homes, professionally decorated using the materials that you see in much more expensive homes, and buyers don’t have to wait a year or more to move into their new home.

I was so inspired that I asked the home center manager if we could use some of their beautiful homes to share some decorating tips for our Clayton Blog readers and he said yes!

I am really looking forward to being able to show you what you can accomplish in your new Clayton Built™ home without spending a king’s ransom to do it. We’ll be heading that way this week to get started - can’t wait to share our ideas here!
