Energy, energy, energy. There is a big emphasis on energy efficiency, energy savings, and energy management in the corporate world. And it’s about time we start caring about energy management, the environment and how we can make it better, especially in our home building facilities.
Who Monitors Energy Management?
The ISO, International Organization for Standardization, develops and publishes international standards.
What are International Standards?
International standards are documents that provide requirements, specifications, guidelines or characteristics used consistently to ensure materials, products, processes and services are fit for their purpose.
That’s a mouthful. This is all just a fancy way of saying that international standards are rules and procedures for best management practices.
What is ISO 14001?
In the case of ISO 14001, we're dealing with the best practices for energy management and an improvement of environmental performance through implementation of policies and procedures around energy efficiency.
How Is ISO 14001 Put Into Action? Who Utilizes ISO 14001?
Any company or organization looking to effectively manage their environmental responsibilities can utilize ISO 14001 for more energy efficient building processes. The Clayton Home Building Group has made a commitment to register each of its Home Building Facilities by the end of 2018!
ISO 14001 standards help us build homes more efficiently and environmentally conscious through small and large-scale changes and processes. Simple changes, like added recycling efforts, better dust control and more efficient waste water management practices help to mitigate environmental impacts.
We are able to put these into practice while still producing high quality, customized homes for you.
Getting Home Building Facilities Registered
ISO 14001 registration does not signal the end of a process, but the beginning of one. ISO 14001 registration involves a rigorous inspection and review system, along with follow-ups to insure standards are being held up.
When an organization makes a commitment to become ISO 14001 registered, they make a lifetime commitment to be a better neighbor, be more energy efficient and be a steward of the environment. All Clayton home building facilities will be registered by the end of 2018.
