You may wonder if manufactured home doors and windows are different sizes than other types of home doors and windows.
Despite many stereotypes, the key differences between manufactured homes and site built homes are in the building process, not the materials!

Clayton Mobile Home Exterior Door Sizes
Many homes across the country have a main exterior door that is 36 in. wide and 80 in. tall. Even site built homes have varying door sizes, though, and Clayton Built® homes are no different.
The IMP 9201 model by SE Homes
Many of our homes are built with main exterior doors that are 36 in. wide and 80 in. tall, just like many site built homes across America.
However, the door size may change with the type of manufactured home you buy.
TRUmh homes often come with main exterior doors that are 34 in. wide and 80 in. tall.
Other home brands may come with main exterior doors that are 38 in. wide and 80 in. tall.
Clayton Mobile Home Window Sizes
You might also wonder if mobile home windows are different than site built home windows. However, just like our exterior doors, you can expect our mobile homes' windows to be one of the following sizes:
- 30” by 60”
- 36” by 60”
- 36” by 54”
About 80% of windows that we put in homes are one of those three sizes!
When Window Sizes Might Be Different
If a home’s windows are not one of our typical sizes, they may have been custom ordered or are smaller out of necessity. (Yes, you can purchase custom-built windows, but it totally depends on the home model you buy and which building facility constructs your home.)
For instance, a window over a kitchen sink is smaller than the typical 30” by 60” size so that it will fit above the sink. And you probably don’t want a 30” by 60” window in your bathroom where you expect privacy!
Clayton Window Options
Clayton offers great window options in our Clayton Built® homes! Most of our homes have vinyl insulated windows, and a small percentage of them have aluminum windows. All of our manufactured homes come with great double pane, single-hung and tilt-in sash windows.
The key options you have for energy efficiency include:
- Standard windows
- Low-E windows
- Argon Gas windows
There are also a couple different color options for the window framing like white, sandstone or chocolate brown!
Different Window Options, Same Size
The Revolution 60 model by Giles
The windows across a Clayton Built® home are generally the same size except for in the kitchen and bathroom like I mentioned before.
That means that you’ll probably find the same size window in your living room as in your bedroom with the exception of custom-built windows. That includes Low-E windows and other energy efficient window options!
Buying a Clayton Built® home is a wonderful option whether you are a first time home buyer, are ready to downsize or are looking for extra room for your growing family! You can expect great building materials and beautiful details throughout your whole home, including your doors and windows. Although doors and windows are generally standard across our homes, there are many other ways to customize your new Clayton Built® home.
